The design of a newsletter or of a landing page can be a determining factor for the success of a communication.
Design can now exploit scientific methods with proven reliability and authenticity. Eye-tracking gives the chance of tracking the user's user-experience to the millimetre, recording the points and areas that are mostly viewed (and for how long).
<<Analyzing the eye-tracking session records (also giving information on interaction by recording the clicks and movements of the mouse), one can therefore achieve graphic designs such as thermal maps, temporal paths, multi-user overlapping, making it easier to identify the criticalities of a Web interface and have a series of scientifically measured data on hand which, through empirical intuition, may either confirm or refute likelihood of work accrued. With respect to the possibility of recording the irregular positions of a "fluttery" mouse (eye tracking demonstrates that there is a considerable difference between the movements of the mouse and the paths followed by the user's attention) and asking the persons after a test if they remember any specific information, one can see why data extracted from the eye-tracking sessions furnish far more precious information than tests normally used.>> (from webdesign.html.it)
